Industrial Appreciation Awards
Marion County Economic Development loves to celebrate our local industries!
Each year in October, during Manufacturing month, we look forward to welcoming industry and business leaders from across the county to join us for lunch and celebration as we give out awards in four categories for outstanding achievements right here… in the Heart of Kentucky.
Our Awards include:
Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Criteria: An Entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, usually with considerable initiative and risk. An Entrepreneur has the following qualities: entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, strategic direction, community impact, innovation, and personal integrity. This recognition is intended for businesses that have been in operation for no longer than 5 years.
Small Business of the Year
Criteria: small business with less than 50 employees within any industry that has been operational in Marion County for at least 5 years. This business should offer high quality products or services and demonstrate success in the following categories: overall business and growth, community involvement and contribution, response to business challenges, and use of sound business practices and strategies.
Manufacturer of the Year
Criteria: a company that demonstrates industry leadership, innovation, growth through revenue or profits, and a commitment to the growth and development of its employees and community. Evaluated on the following: operations and continuous improvements, workforce development, productivity, and community engagement.
Industry of the Year
Criteria: small, mid-size or large company within any industry that demonstrates success in the following categories: overall business and growth, community involvement and contribution, response to business challenges, and use of sound business practices and strategies.
