Kentucky Cooperage is hiring an HR Assistant for our HR department. Every day you will be involved in
essential HR activities such as recruiting, hiring, onboarding, benefits, and other employee-centric tasks
supporting our growth, employee development, and retention.
Compensation: $20.00-$23.00 an hour to start, based on experience
Essential Duties HR Assistant’s Role
• Coordinate or assist with all aspects of the recruiting and onboarding process, including advertising,
scheduling interviews, conducting pre-employment checks, and conducting or auditing new employee
orientations.
• Assist with the administration of the HR Systems – UKG, Paycor, and GP experience a plus!
• Complete various HR-related reporting.
• Administrative and clerical duties
• Benefits Administration: Assist with new employee enrollment and assist employees with the annual
open enrollment system. Answer benefits-related questions as needed.
• General knowledge of leave of absence management to include FMLA, ADA, disability, and workers’
compensation.
• Assist with Wellness program enrollment, communication, and inquiries.
• Communicate and coordinate site events and activities while promoting volunteerism initiatives.
• Manage the internal communication platforms to update employees and sites on essential milestones and
other necessary information.
• Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
• Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) defined in the goal tree.
• Will be a back up for 1
st shift new hire training.
• At times, some travel may be required. 5-10%
Skills and Competencies of The Corporate HR Assistant
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or two plus years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of HR principles, techniques, and procedures.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to human resources
• Knowledge of HRIS and Benefits Administration systems
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Must be comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
• Must be able to analyze data and problem-solve.
• Teamwork and influencing skills.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee will be exposed to shop
floor conditions, i.e., noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt, etc. Will need to learn overall production position duties to give
department tours during new hire interviews.
