I.                    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and support all engineering process improvements and projects to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the installation, debugging, and programming of all equipment.
  • Assist machine repair with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and/or repairs on automated equipment
  • Obtain operational knowledge on all manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct studies to help improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase throughput of the lines.
  • Improve departmental performance and professionalism by providing both practical and formal training opportunities.
  • Ensure spending plans are followed and develop action plans.
  • Work closely with the engineering department to determine priorities for project implementation and/or resource needs.
  • Serve as the manager’s resource for implementing production area projects (i.e., Poka-Yokes, cell modifications, new stations, etc.).
  • Participate in root cause analysis of failures and follow up countermeasures.
  • Support the plant by applying specialized technical knowledge
  • Understand customer needs and work towards meeting and exceeding them.
  • Support all the engineering changes requested to the product.
  • Support and participate proactively in specialty team meetings.
  • Actively support full implementation of best practices and culture (MOS, 5’S, PPS, A3s, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Additional responsibilities as required—this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change.

II.                  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college; 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or

equivalent combination of education and experience. Close attention to detail. Experience working with

computers. Strong communication skills.

Work Environment—indoors in a plastic manufacturing factory.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
