Summary:      The position serves an important function in the Loan Department by performing tasks required in order to meet dual control standards in compliance with bank policy.  This position is also responsible for assisting in maintaining the bank’s general ledger and assists the CFO in this capacity.

Major Duties & Responsibilities    






























Preferred Education & Experience





·         Answers telephone, written and verbal inquiries concerning accounting and loan processing information.

·         Maintains financial institution loan records.

·         Processes paperwork for payments or fees and to change loan ownership.

·         Handles change of address notifications for the financial institution.

·         Maintains and sets up files on each loan and ensures that the information is complete and accurate.

·         Maintains the escrow function of the bank including the analysis, review, and release of funds to escrow holder upon loan approvals.

·         Completes daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations including Bankers Bank, Central Bank, Federal Reserve, Loan Control, and Escrow.

·         Reviews Loan portfolio balance sheet and income accounts for accuracy.

·         Maintains the scanning function for institution loan records.

·         Rotate specific duties as part of the Bank’s dual control and quality control practices.

·         Other duties as assigned.


     Additional Credit Administration Function:

·         Obtains loan request information from lender to analyze credit information, financial statements and other related information pertaining to the loan using designated bank software.

·         Researches background documentation and reviews personal and business financial statements and tax returns.  Analyzes financial information and prepares the preliminary analysis for the lender.

·         Inputs updated annual financial documents obtained by loan processors to assist the Internal Auditor analyzing loan status using designated bank software.

·         Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.

·         Good communication and organization skills.

·         Knowledge of general banking policies/procedures.

·         Basic understanding of accounting and computer spreadsheet skills.

·         Good math skills and a general knowledge of accounting principles.

·         Requires thorough knowledge of loan servicing products, services and policies.

·         Understanding of teller functions.

·         Knowledge of loan origination, processing and closing duties.

·         Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office and the bank’s core data processing system applications.

·         Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

·         Minimum of Associates Degree in business related field or two years of related experience.
