Frederick A. Higdon is a partner in Spragens and Higdon, PSC, located in Lebanon Kentucky where he focuses on corporate, estate planning, probate, real estate, and taxation law. He served in Frankfort, Kentucky as Commissioner of the Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control from March 2013 through March 2016. He is a 1972 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville in 1975. He is a Certified Public Accountant, having earned that distinction in 1976. From 1992 to 1996 he served as Assistant Marion County Attorney. In August 2008 and May 2020, he was appointed as a Special Justice to the Kentucky Supreme Court. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Regents of Western Kentucky University, Chairman of the Board of Peoples Bank in Lebanon and President of the Marion County Industrial Foundation. Higdon is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Marion County Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, Western Kentucky University Alumni Association, University of Louisville-School of Law Alumni Association, Leadership-Lebanon/Marion County Alumni Association, and Finance Council of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Higdon also serves as the President of the Marion County Industrial Foundation, Inc.
