Position Summary: The sanitation specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the
worksite as a whole. This includes the production floor, offices, common areas, restrooms, and the

surrounding grounds. This position works independently of direct supervision and requires a self-
motivated and self-sustaining individual. The sanitation specialist must be able to communicate well with their supervisor and must comply with all Safety and Safe Quality Foods policies.

Essential Functions:
• Performs general janitorial duties throughout the plant and attached offices.
• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming.
• Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
• Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to
specifications.
• Cleans indoor and outdoor windows, glass partitions, or mirrors.
• Cleans employee common areas.
• Cleans and sweeps plant aisles, driveways, yard and parking areas.
• Picks up trash and debris in and around the plant.
• Empties all trash containers in facility as needed.
• Stocks PPE stations throughout the facility.
• Operates a scissor lift for overhead cleaning.

• Ability to stand and walk for the full shift is required.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and technologies.
• Ability to use all required cleaning instruments and equipment.
• Knowledge and compliance of all safety guidelines.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our
climate-controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration, equipment noise, and cleaning solvents leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights.

Physical Demands: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.

• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, listening, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
• Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.
• Good eyesight and normal hearing.
• Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 50 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days, nights and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and productions requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.

Travel: Should not be required.

Required Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Custodial experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: None.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
