Quality Regulatory Technician

Position provides dual role in the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance departments.  Opportunity for growth and industry experience in the Quality, Regulatory, Compliance and food safety fields.  Utilizing knowledge in regulatory guidelines, growing food safety legislation, and quality aspects of a food manufacturing environment.


·        Collect samples of raw materials, in process, and finished products for analysis; record and process sample collection data accurately in ERP and Lab systems

·         Evaluate all incoming vendor Certificates of Analysis

·         Conduct product testing including, but not limited to sieve, moisture, salt, pH, and organoleptic analyses

·          Perform microbiological testing of incoming raw material, finished products, and environmental samples using appropriate methods; calculate and record test results accurately

·         Collect environmental samples and monitor results in all production areas

·         Assist in  HACCP monitoring and verification procedures as defined by HACCP plan for all incoming slacking, cooking, cooling, and in-process USDA and seafood materials

·         Process all customer returns; assist in determination of disposition of returns

·         Document all analyses preformed, equipment calibration and maintenance, and other critical information

·         Maintain laboratory equipment in clean and working condition by performing necessary calibration and cleaning procedures

·         Maintain clean, sanitary and safe laboratory environment

·         Report all Food Safety Hazards to supervisor

Quality Assurance Role and Responsibilities



  • Assist with vendor approval process and material approval process.
  • Prepare product documentation, including specifications, nutritionals, allergen statements, country of origin declarations, and other required compliance documents for review.
  • Provide timely and accurate product inquiry responses to both internal and external customers.
  • Prepare and submit applications for kosher certification and process approvals accordingly.
  • Assist in research and recommend solutions for regulatory compliance concerns.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance projects and assignments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities for monthly review.
  • Active HACCP Team member



  • Knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing & Laboratory Practices
  • Other duties as assigned



  • One year of related experience preferred
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to work with airborne dust, ingredient particles, and strong aromas



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • B.S. in Chemistry, Biology or related field preferred


  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment and carry out multiple assignments simultaneously and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aptitude for creative problem solving
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
