The Process Engineer monitors manufacturing operations to improve productivity and efficiency. This includes testing and monitoring equipment, updating current system processes, creating standard operating procedures and safety protocols, and conducting risk assessments.
Essential Functions:
• Study existing production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Design and Implement solutions such as workflow optimization, lean manufacturing techniques, and time studies.
• Analyze labor requirements, design workstations, and implement methods to improve employee productivity.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities within production processes and implement strategies to reduce waste and overhead.
• Lead and manage projects related to process improvement initiatives.
• Investigate shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current processes and take ownership in change initiatives.
• Establish norms and standards for company performance.
• Collaborate with other managers and employees to enhance productivity and staff satisfaction.
• Train, mentor and guide team members in new processes and standards.
• Stay up to date with developments in management and process optimization.
• Ensure open communication throughout the organization by keeping management informed of project status and ensuring coordination on activities.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our climate-controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights. There is a moderate to high demand for tight deadlines. This position will experience moderate interruption in workflow, starting and stopping for product changeovers.
Physical Demands: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. While performing the duties of this job:
• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, listening, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
• Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.
• Good eyesight, normal hearing.
• Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days, nights and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and productions requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.
Travel: Position may occasionally travel to customers or other venues to support business activities.
Required Education and Experience:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Lean Manufacturing Sigma Six Black Belt Certification with direct manufacturing experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
Licenses and Certifications: CMRP certification, preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Pay Range: $80,000 – $90,000 per year
