Job Description

Spring View Hospital

The role of the Receiving and Distribution Technician is to provide effective and efficient services to the hospital and ancillary departments.  This is accomplished by receiving and preparing orders for units, and distributing supplies in a timely and organized manner, (speed, and accuracy are the utmost important factor when receiving orders), assisting with the unloading of supplier truck in order to receive, combine, and process incoming shipment, inputting par level requisition into Materials Management data entry system.  Incumbent is responsible for keying patient charges into Meditech and maintaining lost charge reports, maintains rental equipment and bills patient for chargeable rental equipment; labels patient chargeable supplies with patient charge labels as received. The Receiving and Distribution Clerk also provides back-up support to staff, procures supplies for the hospitals, follows up on any purchase orders placed, and directs internal and external customers to appropriate areas and acts as a receptionist.  This position requires taking responsibility within appropriate guidelines, prioritizing duties, teamwork and flexibility. 

Job Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent. Ability to speak, read, write follow oral and written directions.
  • Minimum of one year previous experience in an office setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data entry, verbal and written communications skills, and mathematical skills.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse with a computerized inventory is desirable but not essential.
  • Must be able to make judgements in regards to prioritizing duties.
