Position Summary: To contribute to the success of the company and our customers by ensuring Morris Packaging’s Maintenance meets or exceeds the production schedule and quality requirements.
Essential Functions:
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other appropriate leadership with programs,
activities, and responsibilities of the maintenance department.
• Lead continuous improvement activities and projects as it relates to quality, safety and/or
productivity from concept to implementation.
• Effectively direct maintenance activities of the plant. Ensuring production outputs, budget
requirements and machine maintenance/installations are achieved.
• Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; make and implement
recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Provide guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and
expansions; coordinate with outside contractors and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and
OSHA requirements.
• Promote a positive environment and relationships among employees and customers.
• Ensure the development of maintenance training programs, Standard Operating Procedures
and other documents to ensure all maintenance employees are properly trained in their job
duties, safety and quality requirements.
• Ensure housekeeping and equipment is cleaned daily to standards.
• Review and purchase equipment as required.
• Design, implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for all mechanical
equipment and tools.
• Manage the CMMS and serve as the administrator for the system.
• Oversee and or install, maintain, repair, adjust, troubleshoot and inspect equipment and tools.
• Review the need and request for tools, equipment, and supplies necessary to perform duties
per budget.
• Develop department goals and perform annual reviews for maintenance technicians.
• Ensure quality standards are achieved in maintenance. Proactively interface with the quality
department to bring up and resolve quality issues.
• Mentor maintenance technicians, update them in process changes, and encourage efficiencies
and quality products.
• Perform other work as assigned.

• Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
• Ability to lead and train staff.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork – expense reports/PTO request/Etc.
• Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
• Ability to perform mathematical computations.
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our climate- controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights. There is a moderate to high demand for tight deadlines. This position will experience moderate interruption in workflow, starting and stopping for product changeovers.

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. While performing the duties of this job:
• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) working at a computer terminal.
• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, listening, teaching, and repetitive motion,
hand/wrist movement.
• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
• Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting,
and grasping.
• Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.
• Good eyesight, normal hearing.
• Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Typically works standard business days and hours. Flexible to attend meetings or important functions that may occur during off hours, weekends to meet organizational initiatives.
Travel: Position may occasionally travel to customers or other venues to support business activities.
Required Education and Experience:
• Five to seven years’ experience leadership in manufacturing, including maintenance.
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial management, or equivalent experience in manufacturing
engineering field, required.
Licenses and Certifications: CMRP certification, preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has supervisory responsibilities.
