  Machinist

Job Summary: Make precision repairs on parts based on technical and hand drawings, samples provided by the end user, components that are damaged and must be manufactured to OEM or called out specifications using horizontal and vertical manual lathes by performing the following duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• None

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Use basic hand tools, measuring instruments, and other specialized tools to repair, produce and reproduce parts based on customer specifications. 
• Must be able to perform the following machinist skills on a regular basis: cutting threads, boring, turning and facing to proper specifications using 3 and 4 jaw chucks on round as well as irregular shapes. Precision is paramount as there is often no room for mistakes. 
• Must be able to determine tolerances and metric-to-standard dimension conversions. 
• Must be able to meet projected delivery dates by having excellent time management skills and the ability to stay on task. 
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining various shop equipment as required. 
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation. 

 Requirements

  Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.· Strong mechanical aptitude· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. 

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-5 years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 

Physical Requirements: 

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
