Description:The EHS teacher plans and establishes a learning environment in a manner that promotes safety and learning in a cheerful environment. Implements daily routines and experiences with intentionally planned activities that meet all component areas of EHS, school readiness goals, as well as, meet the individual needs of each child in the classroom through child/adult interactions. The EHS teacher is flexible with daily routines and schedules to capture “nurturing and teachable moments”. The EHS teacher will coordinate with other component staff to involve parents in education activities to enhance their role as the prime educator of their children. The EHS teacher provides flexible education activities for infants and/or toddlers to help develop positive self-esteem and experience success while participating in the program. Develops a sense of teamwork with co-workers in all activities, including housekeeping, diapering/toileting training and meal service. The EHS teacher possess skills with knowledge and experience working with infants and toddlers, child development, classroom/time management, active supervision, organization and communication. Activities associated with the job include supervision and providing leadership and guidance to EHS specialist and volunteers, voicing recommendations regarding education curricula and assessment and implementation of program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with governing regulations including all Federal Performance Standards, CLASS, ITERS and ALL STARS. Preparing, posting and implementing lesson plans using Frog Street Press Curriculum, observing, assessing, and documenting each child’s health, skills, behavior, growth and development using AIM and ChildPlus, conduct two Parent/Teacher conferences per year, two home visits per year, participating in and assisting with staff training activities and ensuring the thorough and timely completion of children’s classroom records.
Requirements:Must have an Associates or Bachelor’s in ECE or IECE or equivalent. Preferred Infant Toddler CDA. Criminal check and pre-employment screenings are required.
