The Diageo Lebanon Distillery is the newest addition to Diageo’s North American Distillery portfolio! The Bulleit brand is undergoing significant growth and this is a key role in ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality whiskey to meet consumer demands. The Diageo Lebanon Bourbon Production Experts (BPE’s) are responsible for the distillery, DDG dry house, warehousing operations and maintenance. This position is a member of a salaried, self-directed, professional, operator/mechanic team ensuring the site operates at the safest level and achieves the highest quality. We are currently hiring to support a 24/5 schedule with eventual transition to 24/7. Candidates must have a driven sense of ownership and a strong desire to master the entire bourbon production process!
Crucial Functions:
Plant Safety
Encourage safety, with a continuous focus on improving safe work practices to maintain an injury free environment.
- Work to eliminate safety hazards, and respond quickly to any safety issues
- Assist site leadership team in meeting site safety objectives
Distillery, Dry House and Warehousing Operations
- Control and optimize all distillery, DDG dry house and warehousing processes
- Maintain automated production recording and management reporting systems (SAP)
- Produce technical contributions to process improvement initiatives while participating within a cross-functional team
- Identify and correct deviations from standard process parameters
- Support consistent approaches for Key Performance Indicators of safety, quality and productivity cost management and delivery
- Communicate with site team regarding all facets of distillation, dry house and warehousing
- Finish the cross-functional training and implement to scheduled rotations in all production areas to support flexibility
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all production process and inventory paperwork
- Support the sensory taste panel for whiskey distillate
Distillery, Dry House and Warehousing Maintenance
- Troubleshoot, inspect, diagnose, adjust, test, maintain, and clean all facility equipment including, but not limited to; mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and digital, pneumatic and manual instruments
- Basic repairs to pumps, gearboxes, and electrical motors
- Conduct basic PLC programming and instrument troubleshooting
- Pipe installation including threading and compression fittings as needed
- Basic steam system maintenance
- Ensure modifications and changes to any process or equivalent have a valid work order and approvals
- Work in partnership with the Bourbon Resource Manager to understand work order backlog and priorities
- Control job execution including quality, duration, cost and thoroughness of all work
- Use SAP to coordinate and record asset care activities
- Attend operations shift handover meetings to communicate maintenance and operations events

Work Environment
Role operates 90% in the distillery, DDG dry house, and maturing warehouse environment and 10% in an office environment.
Qualifications
- Relevant process operating experience in any of the following environments: distilling/brewing/food manufacture/petrochemical/pharmaceutical OR Degree in Engineering, Science, Business or related field (Will consider military with additional proven experience)
- Strong analytical, budgeting, organization and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with all departments and levels of management
- Must work well with other departments and levels of management
- Understanding of blueprints, specifications and schematics
- Basic knowledge and experience of operating pumps and valves
- Ability to read and interpret gauges for pressure, vacuum, temperature, and flow rate
- Ability to read and understand basic process drawings
- Willingness to work towards industry qualifications
- Experience in distilling or brewery operations preferred but not required
