Material Handler

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Material Handler is under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and is accountable for moving plastic materials, mixing materials, filling machine hoppers, maintaining and organization of warehouse area

  1. Understand basic mathematics and can mix raw resin material, coloring pigments and recycled material according to formula.
  2. Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e., barrel mix sheet, bag mix sheet, machine labels, etc.) as directed in a timely and precise manner.
  3. Assist in maintaining the flow of work through production departments as needed.
  4. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
  5. Perform job functions in a safe manner, know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety and health procedures.
  6. Actively participate in site safety initiatives, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  7. Monitor and maintain product quality
  8. Bring safety and health concerns, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management’s attention or correct those you’re able to.
  9. EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS
  10. Knowledge of handling requirements for product and materials
  11. Knowledge of manufacturing work flow
  12. Basic inventory control knowledge
  13. Simple hand tools
  14. Fork Lift experience
  15. Machine-specific knowledge – operations, capabilities, light maintenance, safety requirements
  16. High School diploma or GED required and 1 year experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
