QUALITY TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

An employee in this position is responsible for doing quality checks on production parts using production document and blueprints.  Requires use of gages and calipers for measurements.  Also includes training operators on Basic Production Training and Quality Training.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects plastic parts per production document and/or blueprint.
• Checks quality of production at press if there is a question.
• Trains new operators on Basic Production Training and Quality Training.
• Performs quality checks at the press.
• Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.
• While in a sitting position, may be required to perform repetitive bending from the waist to approximately 12” from the floor.
• Required to stand, sit or walk up to 12 hours per day (depending on shift), with 10 to 15 minutes breaks every two hours.
• Good vision required for visual inspection of parts for dirt specs, color variations and swirls, dimensions and close detailed work.
• Repetitive bending, stooping or twisting
• Head and neck in static forward or turned position and frequent flexing and rotating.
• Will be required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection.
