Job Title:  Project Engineer

Job Description:  Interface with customers as project manager on new programs. Maintain the highest quality work to continuously ensure customer satisfaction. Perform product cost estimating. Perform 8-D analysis. Follow tool progress at tool shops to ensure timely completion. Report weekly to plant management the status of all new programs. Provide product design and tooling manufacturing feasibility. Ensure that all aspects of the projects are addressed and completed in a timely fashion. Perform as a team leader for internal product development team (PDT) for new programs. Attend PDT meeting and becomes a member of the customer’s PDT. Document all project activities in a program file. Lead and participate in internal product and process audits. Perform part dimensional lay-out, Gage R&R, SPC, Capability study. Perform automation systems programming and troubleshooting. Work closely with manufacturing on repair and modification of existent tools and fixtures. Participate in APQP meetings and support the development of PFEMA, Control Plans and PPAP processes. Apply Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma tools.
Establish standard procedures and quality measures leading to a consistent production process for all the sub-assemblies approved by customers that brought about minimum failure and significant improvement in PPM and a significant increase in Ford Q1 score Maintain the highest quality work to continuously ensure customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering field plus 1 year of experience as project or manufacturing engineer.

Must possess 1 year of experience with:

– performing planning on maintenance, reviewing technical documents, working with production for improvement, and providing cost analysis.

– product design and with (Pro-E, CATIA and Solid Works)

Must be willing and able to travel to Midwest and Southeast US for up to 10% of the time.
