CONTRACTORS NEEDED

Central Kentucky Community Action’s Weatherization Program is seeking HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing contractors to perform Energy Efficiency upgrades within the weatherization program. The following work scope is common day to day work in which the weatherization program will sub-contract, but is not limited to the description listed within the ad. HVAC work will consist of but is not limited to repairs/replacements to existing HVAC units. Plumbing contractors work consist of but not limited to minor plumbing repairs, repair/replacement of gas and electric water heaters. Electrical contractors work will consist of but is not limited to minor electrical repairs and installation of exhaust fans.

Requirements for all contractors as followed:

Certificates of Insurance for General Liability and Comprehensive Coverage for general contractors performing work must meet the minimum coverage requirements in the amount of $800,000 or greater if annual contractual requirements change.

  1. HVAC contractors must have minimum Certificates of Insurance in the amount of $500,000.00 general liability and $300,000 property damage or greater if annual contractual requirements change.
  2. Electrical contractors must have minimum Certificates of Insurance in the amount of $500,000.00 general liability or greater if annual contractual requirements change.
  3. Plumbing contractors must have minimum Certificates of Insurance for General Liability in the amount of $250,000 or greater if annual contractual requirements change.
  4. Proof of compliance with workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
  5. Contractors must have EPA certified RRP firm status as applicable.
  6. Contractors must have proof of all required training listed in the state plan.
  7. Contractors must have proof of non-debarment

All technicians are required to be licensed in their respective discipline (HVAC, Electrical, etc.) Technicians shall maintain their professional licenses in accordance with KRS 227A.010-150 for electric, KRS 198B.650-689 for HVAC, and meet all requirements regarding fees and continuing education.

Work sites will vary throughout our service areas of Marion, Washington, Nelson, Larue, Hardin, Meade, Breckinridge and Grayson Counties.
