I.                    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Provide technical support in evaluating and analyzing data during the process of mold/assembly

qualification from conceptual stage to final customer approval and production start-up.  Support the

manufacturing floor in identifying and correcting on going quality problems through analysis and

subsequent recommendations.

Review blueprints/specifications to establish manufacturing/gauging feasibility, including QA

inspection planning, special gauging and associated documentation.

Responsible for maintaining blueprints per procedures.

Provide recommendations to product and process engineers in determining if statistical control

exists, if the process is capable and conducting studies using designed experiments and FMEA

techniques to establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.

Address internal and external quality issues including root cause analysis using an approved

analytic process.

Work with quality manager as required for systems standardization.

Identify ongoing quality issues on the production floor by appropriate means and make

recommendations on improving the capability of production tools.

Interface with customers, engineering and operating companies in negotiating quality issues

relative to print and specifications capability.

Manage production part approval (PPAP) activity.

Interact with team members to communicate part requirements.

Create job instructions.

Participate in continuous improvement activity (parts and processes).

Complete dimensional inspections of parts per procedures.

Perform capability studies.

Accurately complete and maintain any required documentation.

Must be safety oriented.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Related experience in Quality field with a minimum of 2 years experience in plastic processing.

and talk and hear.  Twisting of the body or neck may be required occasionally when inspecting product.  The

employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,

depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Should be able to safely operate cranes, forklifts and other equipment necessary to perform job.

Job involves visual effort and concentration.

Good hand-eye coordination.

Accuracy.

Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.

Driving is required.

Mental activities necessary include manufacturing knowledge and other practical and problem-solving skills.

PPE – Safety Eye Wear, Cutting Gloves when using a knife, and cotton gloves when handling hot parts.

Work Environment – indoors in plastic manufacturing factory.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

*Due to the factory not being climate controlled, extreme heat is experienced in the summer months.
